This was the first and ONLY time that has ever happened. But yes, life drawing is awesome!!! I need to get into some more classes...

ALSO! In case this comic gets flagged as mature (though I'm pretty sure nekkid bums are allowed) it's also posted over on Girlamatic.com [link]

And in case you were curious, here's a collection of some of my figure drawings from earlier this year

happened to me about a year ago, the first model we had was a female and I didn't giggle at all or anything cause im a girl, she's a girl what ever.
But when the next model was a guy I almost fell off my drawing horse with giggles.

My first nude model was a super old man...took me so long to get over the nekkid...(also didn't help that the teacher told us to think of him like wrinkly drapes')

Lol, my friend has been trying to get me to go with her to a life-drawing class XD She insists that they aren't that bad, but I just keep insisting that I am certainly not mature enough and I would do exactly what happened in this comic. XD

Iiiiiiii still do that. It's just learning to make it internal. I'm 21 btw though most people seem to think I'm closer to 30 by way of my behavior and such.
Even when I was an art class model for a stint I had a hard time not giggling. And I was the one on the pedestal/stage/model display thing! :XD:

Nude drawings are sooooo awkward the first time. I just took my first college drawing class working with nude models, still gotta get used to it. Would have been nice if the first model we had was a girl, that would have made it a bit easier for me...but no.
I dont laugh or anything I just feel really really awkward and sometimes want to leave the room.

Ahhh, I remember my first life drawing class.

I was 16, and in our *~art school~* that's when we started drawing nudes. But really, I remember the shock, slight embarassemenT (OH NO WHERE DO I LOOK OH SHIT DO I REALLY HAVE TO DRAW HER TITS OH GOD) , and then the joy of drawing.

this is ALMOST what happened at my figure drawing class today. It is my second day, but the first day we had a female model so it was ok. But when the model stepped up today.. i almost giggled and i felt myself smile a little.

It's totally a right of passage for any art student. Trying our hardest not to laugh or blush: focus focus ... shit don't look directly it! haha...

Think the worse was when i was late, got in to the class, set up, then look properly at the model to see this girl I've use to fancy, in all her glory. I was a bit flushed at first. But i think i did my best work in those few months with her as the model.

But there is nothing better than the feeling of every one concentrating on there art and being totally focus on you work to produce something you prod of.Very therapeutic, if a tad stressful when it doesn't quite go right. :D

this made me laugh so much! The first time drawing a nude lady or person, wasn't really sure how to respond. No real outburst, but...just awkward that's all. It's amazin that you laughed aloud. But really, nudity is nothing....really...

This actually made me laugh out loud because of how accurate it is. When I first drew men in an anatomy class, it felt more awkward than anything... however, I quickly got used to drawing them.

ROFL! Oh my god, that's so funny! :lmao: What's great, too, is that the model is totally not drawn sexy at all! He looks like a good guy, but then he's posing awkwardly and his armpit hair is doing something RIDICULOUS!!!

THIS IS AWESOME!! Thanks for starting my day off with a good laugh!

LOL. I went to the only high school in the U.S. with an anatomy class that featured nude models, they were all old and stuff. XP I remember a lot of the boys being red-faced the first time we had a female model.

In other words, I totally understand. <3

This is everyone's reaction at first. Strangely enough though, after a few classes you're in such a hurry to get things done in time you almost don't notice the dong anymore.

...almost.

I love life drawing class stories. My first semester I couldn't ever remember it was life drawing, and kept calling it the naked drawing class. Then people would ask what that meant. Lol! My first class I walked in, and there was like an 80 year old man sitting on a stool in a loin cloth. Then class started, and the teacher told him to do some quick poses. The guy ripped his loin cloth off and began. My initial reaction was not to laugh, though my initial reaction was laughable. I'm religious and waiting til I'm married, soooo my thoughts were, "I'M NEVER GOING TO HAVE SEX!" Lol!

Anyways, I actually enjoy the drawing progress I get out of life drawing classes now.

As for other stories I've heard from other people, one of my favorites was my friend Zach was drawing a naked old man (something about those naked old dudes), and he looked down to sketch some more, and then looked back up, and the guy was eating a candy bar that seemed to materialize out of nowhere. I think that's my favorite life drawing story I've ever heard.
